Nazareth University welcomes the Brennan Goldman Institute

December 3, 2026

On behalf of the Board and all who have supported the mission and membership of BGI, we are beyond delighted to have an office and meeting space on the third floor of Golisano Academic Center (GAC) at Nazareth University. BGI shares the space with all the Humanities departments—Languages, Sociology, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Community Youth Development. The Chairs of these departments have welcomed BGI with open arms and invitations to coalesce and collaborate around issues of common concern, e.g., the intersection of faith, justice, and civil society. On a personal note, I have benefitted from the advice and hands-on help from the dean’s office, the IT department, the library, the office of safety and security, and even the mailroom. BGI is especially grateful to the opportunities given to us by the Center for Spirituality and the Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue, both in GAC.

As Brennan Goldman Institute, along with its newly re-constructed Board and status as a non-profit, revamps its vision, mission, and priorities for the coming year through visiting and listening to the voices of faith communities and other interfaith projects in Rochester and beyond, we look forward to both serving Nazareth University faculty, staff, and students, and finding our place as a bellwether of the greater interfaith community of Rochester, NY.

We would like to hear from you. Please consider joining us as we reflect on and actualize the dreams and concrete objectives of a coordinated, justice-seeking, unified (not necessarily uniform), and empathic group of humans, within a spiritual and/or faith-based framework. All our welcome and all voices matter!

With sincere gratitude for your interest and support,
